Sanya Mansoor, a journalist with Time interviewed me regarding the Pope’s apology and current visit to Canada. This is an emotional and difficult time for many Indigenous families. The recent media coverage brought so much to the surface as I have many relatives that attended institutions such as Indian Day Schools and Residential Schools. I appreciate the opportunity to share my honest opinion and my misgivings about this recent development.

Guest Lecture (McGill Ed theory class)

Thankful for the opportunity to present to EDEM 609 – a course in critical educational theory for grad students at McGill.

This was somewhat of the a last minute invitation. I presented on my Indian Day School research, my work at the Kahnawà:ke Education Center on Indigenous community research ethics, and shared some of my personal story. Always a pleasure to have opportunities like this.

The Tyee (interview): Revisiting the Record of the Sisters of St. Ann

I was interviewed twice by Francesca Fionda for an article on the role of the Sisters of St. Ann in several institutions, including Indian Residential Schools & Indian Day Schools. This congregation started teaching at the Catholic Indian Day schools in Kahnawà:ke around 1915. This article critically examines not only the impacts on survivors and their families, but amplifies Indigenous voices for justice.
